Our Voices...

Our Goal

Our goal is to generate harmony, fun, and good will. Oh, and also to sing freakishly well, all over the universe!

Elise Letourneau

Elise Letourneau is an award-winning composer, and an accomplished songwriter, multi-instrumentalist performer, arranger, and educator. She is the director of the Carleton University Vocal Jazz Ensemble. She maintains an active performance schedule as a solo artist, with The Capital Voices, The Juliet Singers, and with Glamour Profession (a Steely Dan tribute band). Letourneau has shared a stage with Brian Browne, Paula Cole, Bob Dorough, Sheila Jordan, Janet Lawson, Janis Siegel, and others. She founded and directed Canada's first community jazz choir, Capital Vox, as well as Vox Eclectica Women's Chamber Choir.

For four years running she was shortlisted as a finalist for The American Prize in choral composition. Blurring the lines between classical, jazz, and popular music, her compositions have been performed internationally, by high-caliber ensembles including the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Canada's National Youth Choir, the Toronto Children's Chorus, the Cantiamo Girls' Choir, and Bach Music Festival of Canada choir and orchestra. Soloists who have performed her music include Colin Ainsworth, Leslie Fagan, and Ellen McAteer.

She has recorded 5 CDs. She teaches piano, voice, flute, and composition at Alcorn Music Studios. Letourneau is a graduate of Berklee College of Music (Boston MA), and earned a M.Ed. specializing in creative arts and learning at Lesley College (Cambridge MA).  www.eliseletourneau.com

We strive to create premium quality vocal harmony performances, as well as build artistic bridges within our community. We work hard to create fresh arrangements of highly enjoyable material, interlacing genres, styles and eras, as well as exploring our own compositional voices. We pledge to our listeners that on any given day they will receive nothing less than our finest efforts.

Kenny Hayes

Originally from Belleville, Ontario, Kenny has been playing piano, singing and composing music since the age of fourteen. Having been under the tutelage of Beverley Dafoe at Arden's Music in Belleville, he has gone on to study with some of the leading talents in the music department during his degree at the University of Ottawa (2012 graduating class.) He has performed in many different theatre and music functions in Ottawa, including the Ron Maslin Playhouse's production of 'A Flea in her Ear' (where he also composed the original score and incidental music), Ottawa Little Theatre's 'Skin Flick,' 'Christmas Belles,' and Orpheus Musical Theatre Society's '9 to 5: The Musical.'

He also has written music for and performed in the Ottawa, Regina, Windsor and Victoria Fringe Festivals. His most recent endeavours took him to Toronto where he was seen as Brad in the Alumnae Theatre's world premiere of 'Inheritance,' a new play by Tabitha Keast. His dreams of acting and music as full life careers are finally coming true and he is looking to share that knowledge and experience with his students, some of whom have taken home major awards for excellence in the art of piano and voice!
